3. The Trust funds problem gambling counselling, telephone-help lines, education and research.

4. The Trust is neither for nor against gambling, instead it focuses on preventing and treating the harms caused by problem gambling.

5. The Trust is a respected contributor to the national policy debate on gambling.

6. The Trust is funded mostly by the gambling industry but (like the Press Complaints Commission which is funded by the newspaper industry) is completely independent and has a majority of trustees who come from academia, faith groups, the gambling regulator and parliament.
